Oxford, Miss. — The University of Mississippi women’s basketball team will host Tennessee on Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT at the SJB Pavilion. The game will be streamed on ESPNU, with Tiffany Greene calling the action and Meghan McKeown providing commentary.

Ole Miss, ranked No. 17/16, enters the game with a 20-6 overall record and a 7-4 mark in SEC play. The Lady Volunteers of Tennessee, ranked No. 21/22, hold a 16-7 overall record and are 8-3 in conference games. Ole Miss head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, in her eighth season, and Tennessee’s Kim Caldwell, in her second, will lead their respective teams.

The series between Ole Miss and Tennessee dates to 1977, with Tennessee leading 53-9. Ole Miss snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 80-75 victory in Oxford earlier this year. Marquesha Davis led the Rebels with 23 points, and Madison Scott added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tennessee’s last win over Ole Miss was a 80-71 decision in Knoxville.

Ole Miss is aiming to improve its all-time record against Tennessee and continue its home winning streak. The Rebels have won 39 of their last 42 games at home in nonconference play, including an undefeated 8-0 record this season at the SJB Pavilion. The team has also been strong defensively, with an average of five blocks per game and 131 total blocks so far this season, led by Latasha Lattimore, who has 56 blocks.

On the other side, Tennessee features four players averaging double digits in points, led by guards Talaysia Cooper and Janiah Barker. Cooper averages 14 points per game and is among the SEC leaders in steals, while Barker contributes 14 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. The Lady Volunteers rank second in the SEC in three-pointers made per game, shooting 30.2% from beyond the arc.

Ole Miss recently fell to Kentucky, 74-57, in Lexington, with Latasha Lattimore recording her third straight double-double. The team hopes to rebound against Tennessee and continue its push toward postseason success.
