Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Adds Talaysia Cooper to 2026-27 Roster

Ole Miss women’s basketball head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin announced the signing of Talaysia Cooper from Tennessee for the 2026-27 season, marking the program’s first transfer portal addition for that year, according to a university release.

Cooper, a Turbeville, South Carolina, native, is ranked as the fourth-best transfer in the nation by ESPN. She led Tennessee last season in points (16.0), assists (3.6) and steals (2.7) per game, and averaged 4.7 rebounds. She earned All-SEC Second Team honors for the second straight year.

During the 2024-25 season, Cooper was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team and was on the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List. She also appeared on six preseason Watch Lists last year, including the Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 and Naismith Trophy Midseason Watch List.

As a redshirt junior, Cooper scored in double figures in all but four of Tennessee’s 29 games. She posted a season-high 30 points against Ole Miss in Oxford and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against Belmont. A five-star recruit out of high school, she was the 2021 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year and a 2022 McDonald’s All-American.

Ole Miss continues to build its roster as it prepares for the 2026-27 season, with the team having made five consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. Fans are encouraged to purchase season tickets now and follow the Rebels on social media for updates.
