Ole Miss Track & Field Names Cory Leslie as Associate Head Cross Country Coach

The University of Mississippi announced the addition of Cory Leslie as the new associate head cross country and assistant track & field coach Thursday. Head coach Connie Price-Smith said Leslie’s background strengthens the school’s coaching staff.

Leslie has been the head coach of the Under Armour Professional Track & Field Team since 2021. He has trained elite mid- and long-distance runners whose accomplishments include representing four countries at six World and Olympic Championships. His athletes include 2024 Olympian Ahmed Jaziri and 2024 World Cross Country bronze medalist Adam Fogg, among others.

“I am excited to welcome Cory Leslie to our staff,” Price-Smith said. “His proven track record of developing elite athletes and leadership will help elevate our distance program.”

Leslie expressed enthusiasm about joining Ole Miss, noting the university’s tradition of excellence. He said he looks forward to helping student-athletes compete for championships and grow personally. “I can’t wait to get to Oxford and start working,” he added.

His coaching career also includes stints at Arizona State University (2017-2020), George Mason University (2016-2017), and Furman University (2012-2016). At Arizona State, he helped produce U.S. junior champions, four All-Americans, and a Pac-12 champion. Leslie earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University, where he was a five-time NCAA All-American and a member of Team USA. His personal achievements include a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games and being a finalist at the 2016 Olympic Trials in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase.
