Ole Miss Softball Faces No. 15 LSU in Three-Game Series
The Ole Miss softball team is set for a three-game SEC series against No. 15 LSU in Baton Rouge this weekend. The Rebels, holding a 27-18 record overall and 2-13 in conference play, will face the Tigers, who are 29-14 and 6-9 in SEC games.
The series begins Friday at 6 p.m. CT, with subsequent games scheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. CT and Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. All three contests will be streamed via SEC Network Plus, according to the university’s athletics department.
Ole Miss enters the matchup after a strong offensive performance in recent games. Junior Cassie Reasner has been on a tear, hitting .486 with four home runs and 11 RBIs over her last 11 games. Freshman Madi George set a single-season freshman home run record, passing Lauren Grill’s 14 homers in 2007. George now needs two more to tie Lexie Brady’s 17 home runs in 2025 for the all-time single-season record.
The Rebels also boast a potent lineup, with sophomore Persy Llamas hitting .444 with two home runs and seven RBIs over her last 11 games. The team hit a program-high eight home runs in their series against No. 13 Texas A&M, the most in an SEC series in school history. Overall, Ole Miss has launched 60 homers this season, averaging 1.33 per game.
Defensively, Ole Miss has been strong when error-free, posting a 17-6 record in such games. The team has faced a challenging schedule, ranked as the fifth-most difficult in the nation, with only one non-conference game remaining. The Rebels have played 13-5 outside Oxford and have six remaining games against top-25 RPI teams, including LSU and Mississippi State.
