Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Hosts Arkansas for First SEC Home Match Before LSU Trip
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss Men’s Tennis prepares for a busy weekend with back-to-back SEC matches. The Rebels host Arkansas on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Palmer Salloum Tennis Center before heading to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Sunday at noon, according to university athletic officials.
The No. 34 Rebels (12-2, 0-2 SEC) are coming off consecutive losses to No. 14 Texas A&M and No. 33 Oklahoma. They will look to bounce back against No. 30 Arkansas (10-3, 0-1), which features No. 18 Jakub Vrba. Vrba recently defeated Memphis’ Maxime Dubouch in singles, 6-3, 6-4, and partners with Connor Smillie for the No. 66 doubles ranking, per ITA.
Following the Arkansas match, Ole Miss will face LSU at the LSU Tennis Complex. The Tigers (10-2, 1-1 SEC) have two nationally ranked singles players, No. 53 Erik Arutiunian and No. 102 Andrej Loncarevic. Loncarevic scored a notable upset over No. 90 Matic Kriznik in LSU’s recent match against Alabama, and the doubles team of Matias Ponce de Leon and Arutiunian is ranked No. 63.
Ole Miss’s roster includes standout players such as Matthieu Chambonniere, who finished the 2024 season with a 23-7 singles record, and Stefano D’Agostino, who was ranked as high as No. 2 in ITF singles rankings in August. The team also features several international players contributing to their competitive efforts this season.
Fans can follow the Rebels on social media for updates, including Twitter at @OleMissMTennis, Facebook at OleMissMTennis, and Instagram at OleMissMTennis. The upcoming matches are part of the team’s ongoing SEC schedule, with the next home game scheduled for March 8 against Vanderbilt.
