Ole Miss Men’s Golf Shoots 66, Sits Second at Pauma Valley Invitational

The University of Mississippi men’s golf team is in second place after opening rounds at the Pauma Valley Invitational in California. The Rebels posted a team score of 276, 8-under par, and are three strokes behind the leader.

Cameron Tankersley led Ole Miss with a bogey-free 66. The senior birdied the par-3 16th hole and closed with three birdies in his final five holes, marking his seventh round in the 60s this season. He is one stroke behind the individual leader heading into Tuesday’s second round.

Daniel Tolf and Tom Fischer also posted under-par scores. Tolf shot 69, birdied the 16th and 17th holes, and finished his round with an eagle at the 8th. Fischer carded a 70, his team-best 13th round in the 60s this season. Collins Trolio finished even par at 72, while Cohen Trolio and Finn Meister shot 74 and 75, respectively.

The Rebels will tee off Tuesday at 11:05 a.m. Central Time for the second round. They are aiming to improve on their first-round position at the event held at Pauma Valley Country Club.
