Ole Miss Football Ranked No. 9 in AP Preseason Poll for 2026 Season

The Associated Press released its preseason college football poll Monday, ranking Ole Miss No. 9 in the country for the 2026 season.

The Rebels are coming off a historic campaign that included a College Football Playoff semifinal appearance and their first 13-win season in program history. Head coach Pete Golding is entering his first full year leading the team.

Ole Miss has posted three consecutive seasons with at least 10 wins, the first time in school history the team has achieved such a streak. The program also boasts a top-ranked transfer class, ranked No. 2 nationally by 247Sports, marking its fifth straight top-six finish in transfer team rankings. The high school signing class ranks as high as No. 25.

The team returns 48 letterwinners from the 2025 squad, including preseason Walter Camp Award watch list honorees Trinidad Chambliss and Kewan Lacy. The Rebels are set to open the season on September 6 against Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central Time.

Ole Miss’s strong recruiting and returning experienced players position the team as a top contender for the upcoming season, according to sources familiar with the program.
