Ole Miss Baseball Hosts Missouri State for Weekend Series at Swayze Field

Ole Miss Baseball (5-0) will host Missouri State (3-1) for a three-game series at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 4 p.m., followed by games Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m., according to university sources.

The Rebels entered the weekend undefeated after sweeping Nevada in their opening series and defeating Arkansas State and Missouri State during the week. They outscored Nevada 29-6 and allowed only four earned runs across three games. The pitching staff recorded 35 strikeouts against Nevada, the most in an opening weekend since 2023 against Delaware.

Ole Miss’s offense has been productive, with the team hitting at least one home run in each of its five games for the first time since 2022. Senior Tristan Bissetta leads the team with a .529 batting average, three home runs and 12 RBIs through five games. Bissetta also hit two home runs in a single inning against Jackson State, the first Rebel to do so since 2017.

On the mound, Ole Miss will send Hunter Elliott, Cade Townsend, and Wil Libbert to the mound in the series. All three are expected to start, with their stats and projections available through university reports. All three games will be streamed on SEC Network+ with Jake Hromada and Matt McLaughlin calling the action. Fans can also listen on the Ole Miss Radio Network.

Missouri State, led by third-year head coach Joey Hawkins, enters the series with a 3-1 record. The Bears have posted wins over Louisiana and Oral Roberts, including an 11-0 shutout. Top hitters include Caden Bogenpohl and Gabe Roessler, each batting over .330. Pitcher Michael Yusypchuk has been effective early, pitching six scoreless innings in his start against Louisiana.
