NWCC Men’s Golf Finishes Ninth at Calhoun Spring Classic

The Northwest Mississippi Community College men’s golf team finished ninth at the Calhoun Men’s Spring Classic held at Burning Tree Country Club in Decatur, Alabama. The team moved up one spot from the previous day, shooting a 47-over par in the final round, their second-best score of the spring season, according to team officials.

All four counting scores ranked within the top 50, with two players finishing among the top 25. Freshman Braden Beverage led the team, finishing in 16th place. Beverage recorded birdies in all three rounds, including two on the first day and two more in the final round. His best round was the second, where he shot just one-over par and made four birdies.

Senior Caesar Ingendorf finished 25th after a difficult first round but improved significantly in subsequent rounds. He shot two-over in the second round and even-par in the third, finishing with a total score of 10-over par. Freshman Fadi Burnet also improved each round, ending with an even-par final round and finishing in 42nd place overall.

Freshman Cole Elander was the last scorer for the team, posting a total of five-over and ending in 61st place. Landon Masterson and Drew Dabbs competed as individuals. Masterson finished 61st, highlighted by an eagle on the last day, while Dabbs showed improvement in his final round, shooting six-over par.

The team is set to compete in the MACCC Championship at The Club at Ole Brook in Brookhaven on April 13-14. It will be Northwest’s first postseason event of the year, officials said. Fans can follow updates on the team’s social media accounts or at nwccrangers.com.
