No. 25 Ole Miss Baseball Falls to No. 9 Coastal Carolina 9-2 in Houston
HOUSTON — Ole Miss baseball (10-2) lost to Coastal Carolina (7-4) 9-2 in the final game of the 2026 BRUCE BOLT College Classic Sunday morning.
Dom Decker hit his third home run of the weekend, while Hayden Federico went 2-for-3 with a double. Tristan Bissetta also had two hits, finishing 2-for-4. The Rebels’ pitching staff recorded 48 strikeouts over the weekend.
Wil Libbert started for Ole Miss but took his first loss of the season. Despite retiring the side in the first two innings and striking out the side to open the game, he struggled in the fifth, walking the bases loaded. Coastal Carolina capitalized with six runs over the fifth through eighth innings, including unearned runs aided by Ole Miss’s defensive errors.
Libbert was replaced after the sixth inning, and Ole Miss was limited to just one baserunner in the final two innings, who was erased on a double play. Coastal Carolina’s offense was led by multiple players, including Dean Mihos and Trace Mazon, who each drove in two runs. The Chanticleers also executed a successful steal with Walker Mitchell.
Ole Miss will return to Oxford to host Memphis and North Alabama for midweek games at Swayze Field, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. The team continues its season with upcoming matchups against Texas and Kentucky later in March.
