MUW’s Tyler Bohannon Named Owl of the Week for Track and Field

Mississippi University for Women’s student-athlete Tyler Bohannon has been named Owl of the Week for April 20-26, 2026, in men’s track and field.

At the SLIAC championships Saturday, Bohannon, a Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native, won the high jump competition with a meet-record leap of 2.01 meters (6 feet, 7 inches).

It marks a remarkable achievement for Bohannon, who just two months ago was recognized as part of MUW’s men’s basketball team that won the SLIAC championship and participated in the NCAA Division III tournament, according to the university.

The student-athlete’s performance highlights his versatility and talent across multiple sports disciplines, MUW officials said.
