Mississippi Valley State Hosts Alcorn State in Women’s Basketball Thursday

The Mississippi Valley State University women’s basketball team will host Alcorn State on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the R.W. Harrison HPER Complex in Itta Bena, Mississippi.

Alcorn State enters the game on a six-game winning streak and is the second-hottest team in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, according to the teams’ records. The Braves hold an 11-9 overall record and are 8-1 in conference play, while Mississippi Valley State is 4-15 overall and 3-5 in SWAC games.

The teams have a series history that favors Alcorn State, which leads 60-36 all-time, including their last meeting on March 6, 2025, when the Braves defeated the Devilettes 72-63 in Itta Bena. The Devilettes seek to snap the streak and improve their season record.
