Mississippi Valley State Baseball to Host Bethune-Cookman in SWAC Series

ITTA BENA, Miss. — The Mississippi Valley State University baseball team hosts Bethune-Cookman this weekend in a Southwestern Athletic Conference series. The Wildcats enter the series after beating No. 24 LSU in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, aiming to continue their winning streak.

The series begins Friday at 6 p.m. and continues Saturday with games at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Magnolia Field in Itta Bena. The Wildcats hold a 19-2 series lead over the Delta Devils since 1983, including a 17-game winning streak.

Last season, Bethune-Cookman defeated Mississippi Valley 15-5 in Sanford, Florida. The Wildcats also beat the Delta Devils 12-2 in a seven-inning game on April 22, 2022. Mississippi Valley, with a 10-19 record overall and a 6-6 mark in conference play, looks to pull an upset in the series, according to team sources.
