Mississippi State’s Hubbard Makes SEC Community Service Team for Second Consecutive Year

Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s Community Service Team for the second consecutive year, the league announced Thursday. The honor recognizes his commitment to community service and leadership off the court.

Hubbard, a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient, maintains a 3.03 GPA in human development and family science. He received the 2026 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup last week for his character and leadership. He was also named to the 2025-26 All State NACDA Good Works Winter Team.

The junior has actively used his platform and resources through Name, Image, Likeness initiatives to support local efforts. He founded The Josh Hubbard Showcase, a basketball camp in Madison, Mississippi, which has hosted around 200 aspiring athletes and awarded approximately $40,000 in scholarships over the past two Aprils.

Hubbard partnered with Make-A-Wish Mississippi during the 2025-26 season, launching the ‘Buckets for Wishes’ campaign. Every three-pointer he makes results in donations from sponsors, funding wishes for children in Mississippi. The campaign has granted 11 wishes and raised more than $75,000, including a recent trip to Disney World for a young boy.

In December 2025, Hubbard spent an afternoon distributing nearly 100 gifts he purchased at Children’s of Mississippi Hospital, where he was treated for Kawasaki disease at age 9. He also collaborated with Aerus and US Foods to provide food donations to the Ballas Family Community Kitchen, serving 200 meals daily in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Additionally, Hubbard partnered with Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann on a campaign to reduce chronic absenteeism among students in Mississippi last spring. Mississippi State’s men’s basketball team returns to Humphrey Coliseum Saturday for its regular-season finale against Georgia. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT, with the game televised on SEC Network and streamed via the ESPN app.
