Mississippi State Track and Field Prepares for Split Weekend Competitions
Mississippi State track and field will wrap up its regular season with a split weekend, competing at the Music City Challenge in Nashville and the Tiger Paw Invite in Clemson. The events are scheduled to begin Friday morning.
In Nashville, the Bulldogs will participate in the men’s and women’s weight throw, as well as the women’s mile and 5,000 meters. Tafada Wright is set to compete in the women’s weight throw, while Naomi Jepleting, the outdoor 5,000-meter program record holder, will race in her first indoor 5,000 meters of the season. The distance and throw groups will compete across Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, at Clemson, 21 athletes will compete in 11 events, with multiple athletes having opportunities to advance past preliminary rounds. Riley Brush and Alla Parnov will participate in the pole vault invite, and Nicholas Fakorede will race again in the 60-meter dash after finishing second in Clemson two weekends ago.
Both meets will be available for streaming. The Music City Challenge can be viewed on SEC Network+ and the Tiger Paw Invite on ACCNX.
