Mississippi State to Host Spring Football Scrimmage and Fan Event on April 11
Mississippi State football will host a spring scrimmage and fan event at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday, April 11, the university announced. The event is free and open to the public.
Head coach Jeff Lebby and the 2026 Bulldogs will take the field at 9:30 a.m. for a scrimmage featuring extended live action. The practice will include more than 100 plays in a full-squad setting, providing fans with an authentic look at the team. No score will be kept, and the teams will not be split into traditional game formats. The scrimmage will not be televised.
After the practice, fans will have the opportunity to interact with players, including photo and autograph sessions, as part of a post-scrimmage event. Additional details about the setup and format of the event will be announced in the coming weeks, according to Mississippi State athletics.
“We are excited to welcome our fans back to Davis Wade Stadium this spring and give them an early look at our team,” athletic director Zac Selmon said. “This is a great opportunity for our Bulldog Family to connect with our student-athletes, experience our program up close, and be part of a full day of competition across campus.”
Mississippi State began spring practice on March 17 and will conclude its four-week schedule the week of April 13. The roster features a mix of returning players and impact newcomers, including a transfer portal class ranked No. 13 nationally and sixth in the SEC by On3. The team added 54 players from high school, junior college, and transfer ranks.
“We’re really excited about the talent we retained and added this offseason,” Lebby said. “This is a great opportunity to share that with our fans. Opening our doors and connecting with our supporters means a lot to us.”
In addition to the football event, Starkville will host a full day of sports action. The No. 12 Mississippi State softball team will face No. 10 Arkansas at 2 p.m. at Nusz Park, and the No. 6 Diamond Dawgs will play No. 22 Tennessee at 6 p.m. at Dudy Noble Field.
