Mississippi State to Host Missouri in Women’s Basketball on Sunday
STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi State Bulldogs women’s basketball team will host Missouri on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum, following their second top-15 victory of the season. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+ and can be heard on the MSU Radio Network in Starkville.
Mississippi State (16-6, 3-5 SEC) is coming off a 77-62 win over 15th-ranked Tennessee in Knoxville. It marked the Bulldogs’ first ranked road victory since 2020 and only the fourth time they have defeated Tennessee in Knoxville. Kharyssa Richardson led the team with 21 points on 9-for-11 shooting, her third 20-plus point performance of conference play this season.
Trayanna Crisp contributed 15 points, five rebounds, and three steals, including three three-pointers. The Bulldogs are undefeated this season when Crisp hits three or more three-pointers. Madison Francis moved into 10th place in program history for single-season blocks after a 12-point, 10-rebound performance. She has six double-doubles this season, tied for most among SEC freshmen. Favour Nwaedozi recorded her tenth double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds, shooting 7-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Missouri (14-9, 2-6 SEC) is led by first-year coach Kellie Harper. Grace Slaughter averages 19.3 points per game and scored 31 against Mississippi State last season. The Tigers are 2-3 on the road this season. The all-time series favors Mississippi State, 12-6, with the Bulldogs holding a 5-2 advantage in Starkville. The last 10 meetings are evenly split with five wins each, according to the school.
