Mississippi State to Host Florida in Women’s Basketball Thursday
Mississippi State hosts Florida in women’s basketball on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Starkville. The game will be streamed on SEC Network+ and broadcast on the MSU Radio Network, 96.1 FM.
The Bulldogs enter the matchup riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Arkansas 75-66 on Saturday. Mississippi State made 14 three-pointers, their season high, with four players hitting at least three shots from beyond the arc. Jaylah Lampley led the team with 16 points in her third start, shooting 60% from the field and three-point range.
Madison Francis and Favour Nwaedozi scored 13 points each. Nwaedozi recorded her 12th double-double with 10 rebounds. Francis tied her career high with three triples and also posted seven steals and seven blocks this season. She leads the SEC with 2.8 blocks per game as a true freshman, ranking second nationally.
Kharyssa Richardson is averaging 12.8 points and five rebounds in conference play, nearly doubling her pre-SEC averages. Trayanna Crisp has made multiple three-pointers in 15 games this season, helping the Bulldogs to a 6-1 record when she hits three or more in a game, including wins over top-10 teams Kentucky and Tennessee.
Florida is led by Liv McGill, who averages 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and six assists per game. Me’Arah O’Neal and Laila Reynolds also contribute offensively, but no other Gator averages more than 5.5 points. The Gators are 1-8 on the road overall and winless in SEC road games at 0-6.
The all-time series is tied at 28 games apiece. Florida has won the last two matchups, while Mississippi State leads 15-10 at home. In the last 10 meetings, State holds a 7-3 advantage.
