Mississippi State routs LSU 80-66 in Baton Rouge

Mississippi State earned a decisive 80-66 victory over LSU in Baton Rouge on Wednesday night, snapping a losing streak in SEC play. The Bulldogs started strong, opening the game with a 27-9 run over the first 8 minutes and 25 seconds, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from King Grace, according to sources.

MSU led by as many as 27 points in the first half and took a 44-21 advantage into halftime. It marked LSU’s lowest scoring first half of the season. Despite LSU’s efforts to close the gap in the second half, Mississippi State’s defense remained steadfast, preserving their double-digit lead and securing the win at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

Four Bulldogs scored in double figures, led by Josh Hubbard with 15 points. Sergej Macura posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Quincy Ballard scored 13 points and added nine rebounds, while Ja’Borri McGhee contributed 11 points. The Bulldogs shot 50.9 percent from the field and 47.6 percent from three-point range, also dominating the glass with a 43-24 rebounding advantage.

Mississippi State continues its SEC road trip Saturday, facing Missouri in Columbia. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
