Mississippi College Women’s Tennis Wraps Weekend with Wins Over UT Tyler and Lynn
The Mississippi College women’s tennis team, ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division II, extended its unbeaten streak to 10-0 with two wins over the weekend. The Choctaws defeated No. 13 UT Tyler 5-2 on Friday and edged Lynn 4-3 on Saturday.
In Friday’s match, Mississippi College took the doubles point by winning two of three courts. The team then secured four singles victories to clinch the match, with players performing steadily across multiple positions. The victory marked another win over a nationally ranked opponent and highlighted the team’s strong start to the season.
On Saturday, the Choctaws faced a closer contest against Lynn, earning the doubles point again. They then secured three key singles wins to seal the victory. The narrow 4-3 win kept their perfect record intact and demonstrated resilience in a tightly contested match.
Mississippi College now prepares for a three-match road trip in Florida. The team will face Palm Beach Atlantic on March 11 in Cocoa, then travel to Saint Leo on March 12 and Tampa on March 14, as they continue to build on one of the best starts in program history.
