Mississippi College Men’s Golf Finishes 11th at Houston Classic

The Mississippi College men’s golf team wrapped up the Houston Classic on Feb. 10 at the Golf Club of Houston. The Choctaws finished 11th overall with a team score of 37 over par, competing against a strong NCAA Division II field that included three top-25 teams and six in the top 50, according to the school.

Ben Eichelberger led the Choctaws, finishing 33rd with a three-round total of 8 over par. The freshman from Brandon, Mississippi, was even after the first round and two over after the first day of competition. He completed the event at six over for the tournament.

Zach Robertson closed strong with a 74 in the final round, placing 47th at 11 over par. The senior from Nacogdoches, Texas, finished his final two rounds at two over after an opening round of seven over.

Owen Wallace and Todd McKie tied for 50th at 12 over par, while Jack McKie finished 68th at 16 over. The team was led by notable performances against a competitive field, with No. 23 Dallas Baptist winning the team title at 14 under par.

Mississippi College returns to competition March 9 at the Greenwood Invitational, hosted by Lander University.
