Mississippi College Finishes 14th at Bobcat Invitational
Mississippi College finished 14th at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Georgia College at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee, according to the team’s report. The tournament featured 11 teams ranked in the top 40 nationally, including six in the top 10, making it highly competitive.
Zach Robertson led the Choctaws with a tie for 30th place, shooting a 147 (+7). He scored 73 (+3) in the first round and 74 (+4) in the second. Ben Eichelberger improved in the second round with a 72 (+2), after opening with a 79 (+9). His total score was 151 (+11), tying him for 52nd.
Todd Mckie finished tied for 62nd with a total of 152 (+12). He posted a 75 (+5) in the first round and a 77 (+7) in the second. Joao Iglesias tied for 68th after finishing with a 154 (+14), improving by six strokes in the second round with a 74 (+4). Cole Flesher ended the tournament tied for 71st, with a total of 156 (+16), shooting 76 (+6) in the first round and 80 (+10) in the second.
No. 7 Georgia Southwestern claimed the team title with a 563 over two rounds. Jordan Jones led the team with a 132 to secure the individual championship. Mississippi College is scheduled to compete next at the Nova Southeastern-hosted Shark Invitational on March 23 at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
