Mississippi College Earns 21 All-Region Honors in NCAA Division II Track and Field

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College’s track and field team earned 21 NCAA Division II All-Region honors, announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The recognition spans athletes in sprints, distance, hurdles, relays, jumps, throws, and combined events.

All-Region honors are awarded to the top five individuals in each event within their region, as well as members of the top three relay teams based on season performance. The Choctaws’ men’s team was led by standout performances across various events, including relay squads and individual achievements.

On the men’s side, the 4×400 relay team of Matias Vasquez, Samuel Hodson, Evan Wrights, and Gabe Hodson garnered recognition. Individual honors went to Schyler Chambers in triple jump, Steven Conrad in weight throw, Gabe Hodson in the 800 meters, Tristan Jusino-Lansing in the 60-meter hurdles, Jacob Keesee in weight throw, Jake McMillan in 60-meter hurdles and heptathlon, James Miller in weight throw, Bryan Puckett in shot put and weight throw, and Brodie Roberts in the 60 meters.

The women’s team also received significant recognition, especially in distance and relay events. The 4×400 relay team of Haylei Mason, Anna Tucker, Ann Cobb, and Alana Green was honored, along with the distance medley relay team of Bre Bell, Anna Tucker, Taylor Benoit, and Lauren Wallace. Individual accolades went to Bre Bell in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters, Taylor Benoit in the 3,000 meters, Mallory Dial in high jump, Madison Flugence in 60-meter hurdles, Alana Green and Haylei Mason in sprints, Kennedy Thompson in weight throw, and Lauren Wallace in the 800 meters and mile.

The honors mark a successful indoor season for the Choctaws, which included conference titles, school records, and national championship qualifiers. The team has shifted focus to the outdoor season, already underway after their recent performance at the MC Spring Classic.
