Millsaps Guard Garin Freeman Named SAA Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
CANON, Ga. — Millsaps College junior guard Garin Freeman was named the Southern Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, the conference announced.
Freeman played a key role in the Majors’ victories last weekend, helping them defeat Southwestern 75-68 and Trinity 73-72. She averaged 21.5 points, four rebounds, 3.5 assists, three steals, and added a block across both games. Freeman shot 58% from the field, making 19 of 33 shots, and played all 80 minutes.
This marks Freeman’s first career SAA weekly award. She is the first Millsaps player to earn the honor this season. Her teammate, senior Elyse Warren, has received three weekly awards this year.
The Majors will return home to face Centre College at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Live video and stats will be available at gomajors.com.
