Millsaps Baseball Looks to Build on Strong 2025 Season in 2026 Campaign
The Millsaps College baseball team is entering the 2026 season aiming to build on its 29-15 record from last year. The team finished 13-5 in the Southern Athletic Association and reached the NCAA Regional, according to school officials.
Head coach Jim Page, in his 38th season, acknowledged the significant turnover. The team graduated 14 key contributors, including SAA Athlete of the Year Bradley Pelle and All-American Jackson Ware. Millsaps will rely on a core of returning players and promising newcomers to sustain its success, Page said.
Among the returning players, senior shortstop EJ Ousley and catcher Mason Morgan are expected to be leaders. Ousley hit .269 last season with 31 RBIs, while Morgan batted .302 with three home runs. Senior pitcher Stewart Bonnecaze, who threw 41.2 innings last year, returns as a versatile arm in the pitching staff.
The bullpen also features experienced sophomores like John Montour and Fred Fields, both of whom showed promise last season. Millsaps added a large class of freshmen, including outfielders Thomas Temple and Dominic Mendieta, and pitchers Jackson Devey and Christos Panagopoulos, among others.
The team opens its season Feb. 6 at LeTourneau University with a three-game series. Live video and stats will be available at gomajors.com. Fans can follow the team on X and Instagram or like Millsaps Majors Athletics on Facebook for updates.
