Life University tops Blue Mountain Christian in SSAC basketball game

Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s basketball team lost to Life University, 89-63, in an SSAC game at Tyler Gymnasium in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Both teams played aggressively from the start, exchanging baskets and defensive stops early in the game.

Life gradually established a lead through consistent scoring throughout the contest. The Toppers kept pace early, with Jonathan Baker contributing with multiple three-pointers and energy on offense. Gavin Shannon also scored in transition and drove to the basket, helping Blue Mountain stay engaged in the first half.

In the second half, Life maintained control with balanced scoring. Shannon led the Toppers with 21 points, adding two steals and leadership on both ends. Baker finished with 15 points, including several long-range shots. Michael Hill scored 12 points and made several effort plays, while Esrael Yant added 10 points and four rebounds.

The Toppers showed effort across the lineup, with good ball movement and competitive play throughout the game. Blue Mountain Christian will visit Stillman College in Tuscaloosa on Tuesday night for their next game, according to school officials.
