In the final minutes, back-to-back threes from Smith and Miller put the Lady Bears ahead temporarily. However, the Tigers regained the lead and maintained it through the end. Southwest Mississippi eventually fell, 64-56.
Miller led the team with 22 points and four three-pointers. Smith added 12 points and two threes. The Lady Bears, now 7-14 overall and 3-5 in conference play, will face Itawamba at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Fulton.
