Josh Hubbard Sets Mississippi State Record for Career 3-Pointers

OXFORD, Miss. — Josh Hubbard of Mississippi State men’s basketball set a program record for career three-pointers Saturday night against Ole Miss, breaking a mark held by Barry Stewart for 15 years. Hubbard’s three-pointer with 6:21 remaining in the first half gave him 281 career triples, making him the all-time leader in program history, according to the team’s Twitter account.

The junior’s achievement came in his 94th game, significantly faster than Stewart’s 141-game record. Hubbard’s long-range shooting has been a hallmark of his career, including setting the Southeastern Conference record for consecutive games with a three-pointer. He hit a three in 69 straight games from February 2024 to January 2026.

Hubbard, a native of Madison, Mississippi, has been a prolific scorer for the Bulldogs. He already ranks sixth in MSU history in career scoring, behind Rickey Brown, Jim Ashmore, Quinndary Weatherspoon, Bailey Howell, and Jeff Malone. Hubbard also holds two of the top nine single-season scoring totals in school history, thanks in part to back-to-back seasons with 108 three-pointers.

His success from beyond the arc has helped elevate his status nationally and within the SEC. Hubbard’s achievements highlight his role as one of Mississippi State’s most prolific shooters in recent history.
