Jones College Women’s Soccer Signs Four Players to Four-Year Programs
ELLISVILLE — Three Jones College women’s soccer players made their college commitments official Wednesday, April 22. A fourth player signed in December, bringing the total to four players moving on to four-year programs.
Sherline King, a NJCAA First Team All-American and United Soccer Coaches Division II Player of the Year, signed with Oklahoma State and joined the program this winter. Mary Grace Batson (Lamar University), Hope Welsh (Western Illinois), and Jordan Robinson (Belhaven) announced their commitments during a signing event on campus.
Under 18th-year head coach Dolores Deasley, Jones has seen 69 players continue their soccer careers at four-year colleges. Last season, the Bobcats went 14-6-2 and reached the NJCAA Tournament semifinals.
King, Batson, Welsh, and Robinson are all sophomores. Their heights range from 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-9, and they played various positions including forward, midfielder, and defender.
