Hinds’ Daveon Henry Named to NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team

UTICA, Miss. — Hinds Community College guard Daveon Henry was named to the NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team on Monday. The sophomore averaged 28.6 points and 6.3 rebounds during the tournament.

Henry’s standout performance included a career-high 43 points against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Over the season, he averaged 14.8 points per game, shooting 41.3% from the field, 33.6% from three-point range, and 76.7% at the free-throw line.

In his career at Hinds, Henry scored 826 points in 64 games, with 213 rebounds, 158 assists and 85 steals. He helped lead the Bulldogs to the conference tournament semifinals, the team’s deepest postseason run since 2020, and its highest win total since the 2009-10 season.
