Cameron James Wins SLIAC Golf Championship Player of the Year
Cameron James of The W Golf was named Owl of the Week after winning the 2026 SLIAC championships and earning the league’s Player of the Year award. The Royal Palm Beach, Florida, native led from start to finish in the tournament.
James opened with a two-under-par 70 on Day 1, tying for the top spot on the leaderboard. The second round was interrupted by weather and resumed on the final day. James shot a six-under 66, tying for the second-lowest round in SLIAC history.
He finished the final round with a 78, finishing with a 54-hole total of 214, two strokes ahead of runner-up Tyler Wengronowith of Lake Forest College and Spencer Moody of Grinnell College. Wengronowith is ranked No. 114 in NCAA Division III, and Moody’s team won the championship.
James’s performance earned him medalist honors and first-team All-SLIAC honors, capping a memorable career as he played his final tournament for The W Golf.
