BMCU Toppers Dominate Point University in SSAC Women’s Basketball
West Point, Ga. — The BMCU Toppers delivered a commanding performance Monday night, defeating Point University 73-44 in an SSAC women’s basketball game. The Toppers employed a balanced offensive attack and relentless defense to secure the win.
From the opening tip, BMCU set the tone with pressure on both ends of the court. The team maintained that intensity throughout all four quarters. A strong inside presence from McKenzie Williams, combined with sharp shooting and effective ball movement, helped the Toppers build and sustain a large lead.
BMCU outrebounded the Skyhawks and forced turnovers that led to scoring opportunities. Kathryn Echols led all scorers with 16 points, demonstrating her scoring versatility. Williams added 13 points and 15 rebounds, providing a strong presence in the paint and creating second-chance points.
Brooklyn Hodum contributed off the bench with 12 points, while Rebecca Walter scored 10 and played solid interior defense. Maddie Kirk finished with nine points and five rebounds, rounding out the Toppers’ balanced attack.
The team remains on the road for its next game, set for Tuesday against BPCU at 5:30 p.m.
