Blue Mountain Christian’s Aspen Teague Named SSAC Softball Player of the Week
Montgomery, Alabama — Aspen Teague of Blue Mountain Christian has been named the SSAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Teague’s standout performance at the plate helped the Toppers post a strong showing across four games.
Teague batted .588, drove in seven runs and totaled 14 bases, including two triples. She recorded two four-hit games and consistently set the tone for Blue Mountain Christian’s offense. Her efforts led to a win over Bethel University (Tenn.) and a split against No. 25 Union University (Tenn.).
This is Teague’s first weekly conference honor. Head coach Matt Brunet praised her impact on and off the field. “Aspen is the ultimate team player and has been clutch for us all season,” Brunet said. “She’s always willing to do what’s best for the team and has been a leader on offense and defense. I’m very proud of everything she’s accomplished this year.”
Teague’s consistency and leadership continue to be key for the Toppers as they advance deeper into the season, according to the team.
