Blue Mountain Christian women’s tennis team advances in SSAC tournament with 4-1 win over UT Southern

The Blue Mountain Christian women’s tennis team secured a 4-1 victory over UT Southern in the opening round of the SSAC Women’s Tennis Championship on Thursday in Mobile, Alabama.

The Toppers gained early momentum in doubles play, winning the crucial points with two tough victories. Camila Mordiz and Eugenia Ramos teamed up for a 6-3 win, while Kiersten Terris and Nami Malyaporn followed with a 6-4 victory to give Blue Mountain control of the match.

In singles, the Toppers maintained their lead with three strong performances. Lina Cetina won in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, demonstrating composure in the second set. Malyaporn delivered a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win, and Ramos completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.

The win advances Blue Mountain to face the No. 1 seed William Carey Crusaders in the semifinals scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m., according to tournament organizers.
