Belhaven Women’s Basketball Falls to LaGrange

LaGrange, Ga. — Belhaven University’s women’s basketball team suffered an 89-60 loss at LaGrange on Thursday evening at Mariotti Gymnasium. The Blazers moved to 12-3 overall and 5-2 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

The Blazers stayed competitive early, trailing just 19-15 after the first quarter. Kiersten Hudson led Belhaven with nine points, while Veronica Williams added four points and five assists. LaGrange responded with a strong second quarter, outscoring the Blazers 30-17 to take a 49-32 lead into halftime.

The hosts extended their advantage in the third quarter, outscoring Belhaven 29-13. Tra’Shaylah Wilson provided a spark off the bench with seven points, and Katelyn Coleman added seven points and three rebounds. Belhaven finished the game strongly, holding LaGrange to 11 points in the fourth quarter while scoring 15 themselves.

Kyla Farmer contributed four points in the final period, and the Blazers totaled 30 points in the paint.
