Alcorn State Baseball Rookies Recognized as Impact Freshmen

OMAHA, Neb. — Alcorn State baseball freshmen Devin Kriley and Kayden Sutton have been recognized as Impact Freshmen by D1Baseball.com in their Southwestern Athletic Conference season preview.

Kriley, a 5-foot-11 left-handed pitcher from Goodyear, Arizona, played high school baseball at Estrella Foothills High School and also competed with the Outlawz 18U team. Sutton, a 6-foot-2 right-handed pitcher from Hogansville, Georgia, attended LaGrange High and played multiple positions including infield, outfield, and on the mound. He also played travel ball with 5 Star West 18U Black.

Alcorn’s top draft prospect for the 2026 class is right-hander Jacob Wingard, a junior. The team is predicted to finish 11th out of 12 teams in the SWAC, just ahead of Alabama A&M.

The Braves open their season February 13-15 in the HBCU Power Series, facing Grambling State, Prairie View A&M, and Jackson State. The series features three days of nine-inning games with a 10-run rule, offering a collegiate showcase environment that emphasizes both competition and fan engagement.
