Alcorn Football to Play Three Games on HBCU GO in 2026 Season

Alcorn State University will have three football games televised on HBCU GO during the 2026 season, all of which will be played away from campus, the school announced this week.

HBCU GO is a free streaming platform and television network focused on historically Black colleges and universities. Acquired by Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group in 2021, the network airs live sports, original series, and documentaries aimed at promoting Black excellence.

The Braves’ first HBCU GO broadcast will be the 37th Southern Heritage Classic against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The game is scheduled for September 12 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee, with kickoff set for 6 p.m. CDT. It marks the second straight season the game will be played at that venue.

Second-year Alcorn Head Coach Cedric Thomas expressed enthusiasm about the exposure, saying, “Any time we are shown on TV around the world, especially on a platform like HBCU GO, we are thrilled. It just expands the Alcorn brand and helps us show the good things we’re doing here in Lorman. I appreciate HBCU GO for continuing to showcase the Braves each year.”

The team’s second HBCU GO game will be at Prairie View A&M on October 17, coinciding with the Panthers’ homecoming weekend in Prairie View, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CDT. The final game covered by HBCU GO will be at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on November 14, with kickoff time to be announced later.

Alcorn fans can find the full broadcast schedule at HBCUGO.TV. Tickets for the upcoming season are available at ImpactTickets.com. The Braves open the season with a home game against Miles on August 29 at 6 p.m. CDT, inside Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium.
