Alabama beats Mississippi State 100-75 in men’s college basketball

Mississippi State lost to No. 17 Alabama 100-75 on Wednesday evening at Coleman Coliseum, according to the schools. The Crimson Tide connected on 16 three-pointers and took a 63-33 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs outscored Alabama 42-37 in the second half but could not overcome the halftime deficit. Mississippi State trimmed the lead to 84-65 with a 17-2 run midway through the second half, but Alabama maintained control.

Alabama has won 10 straight games in the series and holds a 139-78 advantage overall. The Tide also won their 10th consecutive game over Mississippi State in Tuscaloosa.

Mississippi State shot 27-for-71 (38%) from the field and 15-for-41 (36.6%) from three-point range. They also went 6-for-12 at the free-throw line. The 15 three-pointers tied for the second-most in a game under coach Chris Jans. The Bulldogs are 7-3 this season when they make 10 or more threes.

Alabama shot 34-for-71 (47.9%) overall, hitting 22-for-50 (44%) from beyond the arc and 10-for-13 (76.9%) at the line. The Tide’s shooting performance helped them secure the win.

Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard started his 78th straight game and scored 11 points, passing Rickey Brown for fifth on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,846 points. Hubbard also moved into seventh on the SEC career scoring list after his junior season, according to the school.

Jayden Epps added eight points, five rebounds, and four assists for Mississippi State. Shawn Jones Jr. contributed six points, two rebounds, and two assists, while Achor Achor scored a team-high 18 points with seven field goals and three three-pointers.

Bench scoring favored Mississippi State 31-24. King Grace scored a season-high 13 points, hitting three three-pointers. Other contributions included six points from Jaborri McGhee and 10 rebounds from Jamarion Davis-Fleming.
