Alabama A&M edges Jackson State in SWAC Bowling Tournament

ARLINGTON, Texas — Jackson State’s bowling team was eliminated from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship Tournament Sunday afternoon. Alabama A&M defeated the Tigers 3-2 in a decisive match that decided who would advance to the SWAC Championship.

The match started slowly in the traditional round, with Alabama A&M gaining an early advantage. Jackson State responded with strong play in Baker format, tying the score at one win apiece. The Tigers carried that momentum into the best-of-seven series, taking an early 3-0 lead over the Bulldogs.

However, Alabama A&M rallied back, winning four consecutive games to take the series 4-3. The Bulldogs advanced to the SWAC Championship, ending Jackson State’s quest for the title.

Senior Faith Washington was named to the All-Tournament team, posting a 204.00 average and a total of 408 pins. Sophomore Saida Lugo also earned All-Tournament honors with a 197.00 average and 394 pins. Jackson State’s official athletics social media accounts and website provided coverage of the tournament.
