SEC Issues Reminder on Game Day Masks Policies
After the Southeastern Conference’s triumphant return to football this past Saturday, the conference has issued a reminder to coaches, players, and other staff on the policies in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The biggest policy being pushed is that all coaches, staff, and non-participating players are required to wear masks on the sidelines. Face shields are not considered a viable replacement.
Along those lines, officials must wear masks when social distancing is not possible, excluded in the case of active play.
Anyone working in or adjacent on the field to the team box on the sideline is required to wear a masks at all times as well.
Those who have field and/or sideline access without being PCR tested prior to the event must stay at least six feet away from the team box at all times.
This comes days after Mississippi State head football coach Mike Leach made comments about masks during a press conference this week.
