Neshoba Central Overpowers Forest Hill, Advances to 6A State Title Game

Neshoba Central High School left little doubt Monday night, rolling to a commanding 64-27 victory over Forest Hill High School in girls playoff action.

Neshoba Central set the tone early, exploding out of the gate with an 18-3 first-quarter run and never looking back. The Rockets stretched the lead to 34-12 by halftime and dominated the third quarter 22-10 to carry a 56-22 advantage into the final frame.

Kyli Truss led the charge with a game-high 21 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and adding six assists and five steals in a complete performance. Eden Ben contributed eight points, while Taelyn Mingo added seven as Neshoba Central showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup.

The Rockets were efficient offensively, shooting 24-of-52 from the field and 7-of-21 from beyond the arc. They also controlled the glass with a 37-16 rebounding advantage and forced 21 Forest Hill turnovers while committing just seven themselves.

Forest Hill was led by Aaliyah Johnson, who scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and grabbed six rebounds. Destiny King added seven points, but the Patriots struggled to generate consistent offense against Neshoba Central’s defensive pressure.
