Jones College Women’s Soccer Reclaims No. 1 Spot in NJCAA Division II Poll

Jones College women’s soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the NJCAA Division II poll after an 8-0-1 start to the season, with four wins against Top 15 opponents, according to the NJCAA released Tuesday.

This is only the second time in program history that Jones has held the top spot, the first being Oct. 23, 2023. The Bobcats have secured victories over No. 2 Dallas College-Brookhaven, No. 13 Southern Union State, No. 4 Johnson County, and No. 1 Northwest Mississippi. They also tied No. 19 Northeast (Nebraska) 1-1.

Jones has outscored opponents 29-3 across nine games and recorded six shutouts. The team’s top three scorers are all freshmen: Karla Ovalle with six goals and three assists, Maryanne Ward with five goals and an assist, and Dillyn Biancamano with four goals and three assists.

The schedule remains challenging, with upcoming matches against No. 3 Holmes on Oct. 2, No. 6 Gulf Coast on Oct. 6, and No. 10 Pearl River on Oct. 13. More information, including tickets and stats, is available at jcbobcats.com.
