Southern Miss’ Steven Robinson earns Sun Belt weekly honor
Southern Miss running back Steven Robinson was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after the Golden Eagles’ 35-21 win at ULM last Saturday.
Robinson, a redshirt junior from Baltimore, ran for a game- and season-high 151 yards on 21 carries. His 33-yard touchdown in the second quarter opened the scoring and was his longest scoring run of the season. He now has nine rushing touchdowns in 2026.
Robinson’s 42-yard run early in the third quarter, also his longest of the season, set up Southern Miss’ first score after halftime. He averaged 7.2 yards per carry and joined Jamarice Wilder for the team’s second consecutive game with two 100-yard rushers. Southern Miss also has exceeded 200 rushing yards in consecutive games for the first time since doing so three straight times in 2023.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to host James Madison on Thursday at 7 p.m. The game is set to air on ESPN2 and the Southern Miss Sports Network.
