Funeral arrangements announced for 18 year old MSU football player who passed away this week
A public memorial service celebrating the life of Mississippi State University football player Sam Alton Westmoreland, who would have celebrated his 19th birthday on October 21, 2022 will be held at 5 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from The Orchard in Tupelo (1379 Coley Road, Tupelo, MS. 38801). The family will receive friends after the memorial service on at the Orchard. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo (662 840 5000) is in charge of the arrangements. Sam Alton is survived by his parents, Josh and Amanda Lavender Westmoreland of Tupelo; his sister, Marilyn “Mary Wilemon” Westmoreland of Tupelo. His maternal grandparents, Mike and Marilyn Lavender of Columbus. His paternal, grandmother, Joanna Wilemon Westmoreland of Tupelo, his aunt and uncle and a large extended family everywhere and his two beloved dogs, Hendrix and Wizkhalifr ; other relatives and a host of friends.
