Dohnte Meyers Set for NFL Debut with Cincinnati Bengals

Delta State University football alumnus Dohnte Meyers is scheduled to make his NFL debut Saturday with the Cincinnati Bengals. The game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicks off at 12 p.m. Central Time.

Meyers had a prolific college career, helping Delta State win a Gulf South Conference Championship in 2022. He posted 120 receptions for 1,542 yards and 13 touchdowns over 24 games, earning first-team all-GSC honors that season.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, Meyers attended rookie minicamp with his hometown Atlanta Falcons, but was not signed. He then tried out for the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders in fall 2023, paying $100 for the opportunity.

Meyers signed a futures contract with the Roughriders after the 2023 season. Injuries in 2024 limited his season, but he rebounded strongly in 2025, catching 65 passes for 1,056 yards and eight touchdowns. He helped lead the Roughriders to a Grey Cup championship and earned CFL West All-Star honors.

His performance drew NFL interest, leading to workouts and ultimately a signing with the Bengals in January 2026. During the preseason, Meyers caught 11 passes for 121 yards over three games. He was officially added to Cincinnati’s 52-man roster on August 30, 2026.

“I felt amazing because that was a call I’ve been looking forward to getting,” Meyers said. “I didn’t get a chance to have it on Draft Night. My family was around me that night too, so I was able to return the favor and experience this a few years later. It was amazing.”

Meyers’ debut will be broadcast on Fox.
