West Florida dominates Delta State 7-0 in tennis

PENSACOLA, Fla. — The Delta State men’s tennis team lost 7-0 to West Florida on Tuesday afternoon at the Ralph “Skeeter” Carson Tennis Complex. The Argonauts swept the doubles matches and extended their momentum through all six singles courts, according to a university release.

West Florida secured the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. At No. 1, Alejandro Bravo and Simon Ojeda led 6–1 when play was halted. In singles, Marti Cerda Castillo lost 6–3, 6–1 on court one. Valentin Greco pushed a tight second set before falling 6–2, 7–6, 7–2 at No. 3.

Bravo was defeated 6–2, 6–2 at No. 5, and Ojeda lost 6–4, 6–1 at No. 2. Juan Diego Alzate dropped a 6–0, 6–1 match at No. 4. Valentino Millimaci fought through extended games but fell 4–6, 5–7, 5–7 at No. 6. Delta State continues Gulf South Conference play next week, traveling to Clinton to face Mississippi College on Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. CT, according to the release.
