Delta State University men’s golfer Ty Werynski has been named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Werynski, ranked 14th nationally, led Delta State at the Saint Leo Invitational with a three-round score of 207 (-9). He opened with a 69 (-3), followed with a 68 (-4), and closed with a 70 (-2). His performance secured his highest finish of the spring season and marked one of the top individual efforts in the tournament.
This season, Werynski has finished in the top five in every tournament for Delta State. The Statesmen golf team will return to competition March 9 at the First Federal Southeastern Collegiate in Valdosta, Georgia.
