Trevor Loomis Named Head Coach of Delta State Swim and Dive
Delta State University announced the hiring of Trevor Loomis as the head coach of its swim and dive programs. The move comes after Loomis served as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Christian University, where he contributed to a record-breaking period for the Eagles.
In his recent role, Loomis helped coach Division II national champion JT Amerin and national runner-up Tammy Greenwood. He also has international coaching experience, having worked with Egyptian Olympian Ali Khalafalla and Puerto Rican Olympian Jarod Arroyo, who finished 20th at the 2024 World Championships, according to university officials.
Before his collegiate coaching career, Loomis spent 18 years with Alamo Area Aquatics Association and North East Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. There, he led programs with more than 130 athletes and coached swimmers at TAGS, Sectionals, Futures, and Junior Nationals. He also managed coaching staff and oversaw training and meet scheduling.
“I’m so appreciative of the trust and belief that Coach Kinnison and the whole of Delta State has shown me,” Loomis said. “I couldn’t ask for a better opportunity with such a historic program. I’m excited to lead this team to new heights.”
Delta State’s swim teams are set to compete at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships starting Feb. 17 at the University of West Florida, the university said.
