Texas A&M beats Mississippi State 88-68 in men’s basketball
Texas A&M defeated Mississippi State 88-68 in a men’s college basketball game Wednesday night in College Station, Texas. The Bulldogs led early, 18-15, but the Aggies responded with a surge to take a 44-33 halftime lead, according to the game report.
After the break, Texas A&M continued to extend its advantage while Mississippi State struggled to establish an offensive rhythm. The Aggies maintained pressure and ultimately secured the victory, their 15th win of the season. Mississippi State, now 10-9 overall and 2-4 in SEC play, suffered its third consecutive loss.
Leading the Bulldogs was Brandon Walker, who scored 16 points off the bench and grabbed two rebounds. King Grace added 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Josh Hubbard contributed 12 points and two assists, but it was not enough to overcome the Aggies’ advantage.
A key factor in Mississippi State’s defeat was a 14-0 margin in points off turnovers favoring Texas A&M. The Aggies shot 41.2% from the field and 34.6% beyond the arc, while making 95.8% of free throws. Mississippi State shot 43.3% overall, with 26.1% on three-pointers, and 66.7% on free throws.
Mississippi State will host No. 15 Vanderbilt at Humphrey Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 24. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
