Sydney Moss Leads Mississippi College to GSC Golfer of the Week Award
Sydney Moss of Mississippi College has been named the Gulf South Conference Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. Moss led the Choctaws to a first-place finish at the Centenary/Hal Sutton Invitational, held at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City, Louisiana.
The redshirt junior posted a two-round total of 149 (+5), showing consistency across both rounds. She shot a 76 in the first round and a 73 in the second, earning her the individual title. Moss’s performance helped the Choctaws finish with a tournament-best score of 614, their first victory since March 2025, according to the conference.
This is the second time Moss has received the GSC Golfer of the Week award, following Ashlynd Madden, who earned the honor on March 6, 2025. Moss has been a key contributor for Mississippi College in the early part of the spring season. She posted a career-best 54-hole score of 213 at the Emerald Coast Collegiate in Destin, Florida, with back-to-back 70s and a final round of 73, finishing tied for fourth.
Mississippi College is scheduled to return to competition on March 30, when it travels to Columbus, Georgia, for the Lady Cougar Classic hosted by Columbus State.
